A flat zoned light strip for behind a TV or along a shelf; on washes the wall in one color, and gradient mode lets several colors flow along the strip zone by zone.

States of the gradient light strip icon

The card picks the state from your entity, so the icon always shows what the gradient light strip is doing.

  • OffResting state, shown when the device is off or idle.
  • On
  • Gradient

Which Home Assistant entities fit

  • Any entity that is simply on or off, such as a light, switch or input_boolean: on shows on, off shows off. Entity states named like a state below (for example gradient) are used directly.
  • Works with any entity whose state you map: pick this icon in the card and map your entity's own state words to these states with the card's states: option.

How to use it in Home Assistant

  1. Install the Animara card: one link install, HACS as a custom repository, or copy animara-card.js to /config/www.
  2. Edit your dashboard, choose Add card, then Animara.
  3. Pick your entity. Choose Gradient light strip in the Icon list if it is not detected automatically.
  4. Paste your Full Pack license key into the License key field once per dashboard.

Prefer YAML? This is all it takes:

type: custom:animara-card
entity: light.gradient_strip
icon: gradient_strip

Mapping words yourself looks like this:

states:
  "on": gradient
