Animated light bar icon for Home Assistant

A slim upright light bar on a small stand; on washes the wall behind it with light, and color mode sends a shifting hue gradient up the bar and its glow.

3 states: off, on and color. Part of the lighting icons in the Animara Full Pack.

States of the light bar icon

The card picks the state from your entity, so the icon always shows what the light bar is doing.

  • OffResting state, shown when the device is off or idle.
  • On
  • Color

Which Home Assistant entities fit

  • Any entity that is simply on or off, such as a light, switch or input_boolean: on shows on, off shows off. Entity states named like a state below (for example color) are used directly.
  • Works with any entity whose state you map: pick this icon in the card and map your entity's own state words to these states with the card's states: option.

How to use it in Home Assistant

  1. Install the Animara card: one link install, HACS as a custom repository, or copy animara-card.js to /config/www.
  2. Edit your dashboard, choose Add card, then Animara.
  3. Pick your entity. Choose Light bar in the Icon list if it is not detected automatically.
  4. Paste your Full Pack license key into the License key field once per dashboard.

Prefer YAML? This is all it takes:

type: custom:animara-card
entity: light.light_bar
icon: light_bar

Mapping words yourself looks like this:

states:
  "on": color
