States of the person presence icon

The card picks the state from your entity, so the icon always shows what the person presence is doing.

  • AwayResting state, shown when the device is off or idle.
  • Home

Which Home Assistant entities fit

  • binary_sensor entities with device class presence are detected as this icon automatically.
  • Any person entity gets this icon by default when nothing more specific matches.
  • Any device_tracker entity gets this icon by default when nothing more specific matches.
  • Any entity that is simply on or off, such as a switch or input_boolean: on shows home, off shows away. Entity states named like a state below (for example home) are used directly.
  • Works with any entity whose state you map: pick this icon in the card and map your entity's own state words to these states with the card's states: option.

How to use it in Home Assistant

  1. Install the Animara card: one link install, HACS as a custom repository, or copy animara-card.js to /config/www.
  2. Edit your dashboard, choose Add card, then Animara.
  3. Pick your entity. Choose Person presence in the Icon list if it is not detected automatically.
  4. Paste your Full Pack license key into the License key field once per dashboard.
