November 202612 updates
2 November 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.38.14 and Animara card 1.2.19
Your icons and names stay yours
- In edit mode, a swipe that starts on a tile now scrolls the page, so you can reach every room on a phone.
- An icon you chose stays. On the Climate, Media and Home tiles you see the icon you picked for that device, and in your own Tile and Mushroom cards Animara keeps the icon you set.
- After the Home Assistant 2026.11 update, tiles show your own device names, the way you wrote them.
2 November 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.38.13
One design language on media tiles
- Media tiles in Float and Glow speak one design language: previous, play/pause and next are one matching set, and the chosen source stays glass like every other button instead of a purple chip.
- In Hebrew, the Shabbat card and the Jewish Calendar events now say כניסת שבת for candle lighting.
2 November 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.38.11
New words reach every screen
- Each phone and tablet now picks up the newest words in your language with every update. Before, a device kept the words it saved on its first day, so newer texts, like the Shabbat card, could stay in English.
2 November 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.38.10
Shabbat in Hebrew
- The Shabbat card on Home reads in Hebrew (Shabbat, candle lighting and Havdalah) when your Jewish Calendar is set to Hebrew, also when Home Assistant itself is in English.
- To choose yourself: the pencil, then Look, then Shabbat in Hebrew.
1 November 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.38.9
Opens faster, steadier, finds every device
- Float and Glow draw your home once when they open, instead of three times. On a slower phone or tablet the dashboard is ready in about half the time, and the icons no longer jump while it opens.
- Control Center shows a camera only when it is a real entrance or doorbell camera, never just the first camera of your home. To turn it off: the pencil, then Look, then Entrance camera in Control Center.
- Adding a device: type two letters or more in the search and it finds every device of your home, sensors too, not only the kinds shown first.
- Your car can show a photo of your own car: tap the car, then Use a photo of my car.
- Scenes named for a device, like All ACs Off or All Lights Off, show that device.
1 November 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.38.8
Tell us how it goes
- After a week with Animara, one quiet card on Home asks if you would like to write a short review. Write a review opens our review page, Later asks again in two weeks, No thanks never asks again.
- It never shows in edit mode or on a wall tablet. To turn it off for the whole home: the pencil, then Look, then Review reminder.
1 November 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.38.7
Song covers, music favorites and one tap shades
- In Float and Glow the buttons on a tile, like play, pause, next, the TV screen and the input, are a little bigger and easier to tap.
- A playing Apple TV or speaker shows the cover of the song on the right side of its tile, clear and away from the buttons. An Apple TV that plays through AirPlay takes the cover from the player that plays the same song. To turn it off: the pencil, then Look, then Song cover on players.
- A long press on your amplifier opens your Music Favorites in a window. A long press on an Apple TV still opens its remote.
- The volume number sits next to the drawing on a wide player tile in Float, and under the drawing in Glow.
- Shades Up and Shades Down buttons move the motor with one tap, also when the button was left stuck on open after a reconnect. If your home has its own press script for the button, Animara uses it. These buttons no longer show Open or a percent.
- The sensor row of a room window follows every change while the window is open.
- Long device names fit the moment a tile appears, never cut for a moment first.
1 November 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.38.6
Clearer choice on the Lights page
- The choice at the top of the Lights page, All or On now, now shows clearly which one is on.
1 November 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.38.5
Only the lights that are on, and smoke detectors
- The Lights page has a choice at the top: All, or On now. Your choice is kept on each screen.
- Smoke, gas, carbon monoxide and heat detectors join the sensor row of each room in Float and Glow: Clear when all is well, red the moment they alarm.
1 November 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.38.4
Opens faster, never a white screen
- Your dashboard now opens at once with what it learned last time and checks your other dashboards in the background. On our test home the first tiles appear in less than half the time.
- Animara Float and Glow load behind a dark screen in their own colour, so coming back to the app never flashes white.
1 November 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.38.3
Tidier Rooms page, cleaning window in your language
- The Energy section no longer shows as a room on the Rooms page.
- The robot cleaning window now speaks all 23 languages.
1 November 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.38.2
Tidier rooms, and room sensors in Float and Glow
- In Animara Float, a playing Apple TV keeps its full size and its place, with the soft sheen sliding across its top.
- A long name that does not fit gets a shorter related name (Bedroom AC), never three dots, also for names you wrote yourself.
- A new device joins the room that already holds its area, so no second room opens for it.
- Two of a kind for two people, like two bedside lamps, sit side by side on one row.
- An Aqara hub's ring light now shows the hub itself; a Yeelight bedside lamp shows the frosted orb lamp.
- In a Hebrew home, the Jewish Calendar's own events in The coming week on Home (weekly portion, holidays, candle lighting, havdalah) read in Hebrew.
- A light behind a curtain shows a white curtain with two strands of lights.
- In Float and Glow a lamp that is on throws its own light, in its colour and brightness, into its tile; a long press on a light opens a window in the dashboard's own look with on, off, the dimmer and colours.
- Two halves of one thing, like Shades Up and Shades Down, sit side by side on one row.
- New in Float and Glow: three backgrounds, Midnight, Dusk (lighter) and Lagoon. Tap the pencil, then Look, then Background.
- Edit mode on a phone: the bar at the bottom now fits the screen, Cancel and Done are always there, and the page scrolls clear of it.
- New in Float and Glow: a cleaning window for your robot vacuum. Tap the robot, or a room that holds only the robot, and choose rooms, the cleaning mode, suction, water, scrub, route and passes in one tidy window, then Start. Save a cleaning as a favourite and start it again in one tap. The rooms and settings come from your robot in Home Assistant, so you do not need its app.
- A floor lamp that lights up and down in two parts shows each part in its real colour. Everything Animara adds to your tiles can be turned off: tap the pencil, then Look, then On the tiles.
- A light's own preset buttons from your own dashboards (like your favourite colour looks) appear in its window, each doing exactly what your button does.
- New in Float and Glow: shades, doors, a water leak, the temperature and humidity of each room as a slim row under its title, and on the Rooms tile the room's temperature and any open door or water. Do not want it? Tap the pencil, then Look, then Room sensors.
October 202640 updates
31 October 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.38.1
Your week on Home, and lock batteries
- New, off by default: the coming week from your Home Assistant calendars (Google, iCloud and more) on the home page. Tap the pencil, then Look, then under Calendar turn on The coming week on Home.
- A lock now shows its battery next to its state, for example Locked · 80%.
31 October 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.38.0
Forecast and Shabbat times, clear in every look
- In Animara Float and Glow, the weather window now shows the coming days.
- The candle lighting and havdalah times are readable in the light look too.
- Float and Glow keep their dark glass look by day as well, so nothing turns pale.
31 October 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.37.9
Right to left, fixed
- In Hebrew, Arabic and other right to left homes, the AC name and status in Animara Float no longer run over its mode and fan buttons.
- Fan speeds (Low, Medium, High and more) now show in your language.
31 October 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.37.8
Your arrangement comes with you
- A new Animara dashboard now starts from what you already arranged in your other Animara dashboard: rooms and their order, favorites, names and the icons you chose. Your other dashboard stays exactly as it is.
- Already opened a new one? Tap the pencil, then Copy my arrangement.
31 October 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.37.7
Your own controls in Control Center
- Tap the pencil, then + Add to Control Center to put any device you like next to your locks, alarm and weather. Tap its name with the cross to take it out again. Control Center stays exactly as it was until you add something.
31 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.18
The right speaker for a HomePod
- A full size HomePod now shows the tall mesh speaker with the colour light on top (Speaker classic) by itself; a HomePod mini keeps the round mini.
31 October 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.37.6
A way out of Wall tablet
- In Wall tablet the Edit button is hidden. Now press and hold the greeting at the top of the home page for two seconds and edit mode opens, so you can change Screen back at any time.
31 October 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.37.5
Your activation is safe
- Pasting a key into a dashboard it does not belong to no longer removes the activation your home already uses.
- A paid key always opens its dashboard on every screen, even if its activation was removed.
31 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.17
HomePod mini found by itself
- A HomePod mini that Home Assistant reports by its model code now gets the Smart speaker mini icon by itself. You can always pick it by hand: pencil, the tile, Icon, More icons, search mini.
31 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.16
Animara in the card picker
- On Home Assistant 2026.6 and newer, pick a device in Add card and Animara is offered under Community with a ready card, for every device it draws. One tap and the animated icon is on your dashboard.
31 October 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.37.4
Shade buttons in one tap
- In Float and Glow, a shade button named Up or Down now acts on the first tap: Up always opens and Down always closes.
31 October 2026 · Animara dashboards 0.37.3
Solar, battery and wallbox on your home page
- Animara Home, Float and Glow now show an Energy section on the home page: solar power, the house battery (power and level), grid import and feed in, the house use and the wallbox, found by themselves in English and German names.
- Missing a sensor? It is in Add now. Do not want it? Remove the tiles or the section in edit mode.
- New: an energy guide with the right icon for every sensor, how detection works and what to do when your inverter counts the other way round.
- Thank you to Julian Haag of Haag Automation, whose hands on test of Animara on a solar system led to this update and to card 1.2.15. See our new partners and installers page.
31 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.15
Your language on every card
- Status words on the card, like Charging, Producing, Ready and just now, now follow your Home Assistant language, in 23 languages.
- German device names such as Wärmepumpe, Speicher, Wechselrichter, Wallbox and Waschmaschine pick the right icon by themselves.
- A power sensor named after your solar system, house battery or wallbox now shows that device instead of a generic energy monitor.
31 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.14
Every tablet unlocks by itself
- A wall tablet or phone signed in as a family user now unlocks by itself too, even when it cannot open the dashboard where your license key is. Your key stays inside your own Home Assistant.
31 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.13
New icon: the round smart speaker mini
- A small round smart speaker with a glass touch surface on top: a soft white dot when it is on, a slowly turning swirl of colour while it plays, a ring when it plays in a group. In the colourful pack and in Animara Flat.
- A speaker named or registered as a mini picks it by itself. The pack now has 307 icons with 808 states.
30 October 2026 · dashboards 0.37.2
Clearer rooms, lamp colours, a steadier weather tile
- A room made of several areas (like Bathrooms with a guest shower and a kids shower) now shows each area under its own heading with a thin line, so you always know where a device is.
- Press and hold a light with two zones: each zone now has its own row of colours under its dimmer, whites for white lights and colours for colour lights.
- If your weather service goes down, the weather tile switches by itself to another weather service in your home and keeps its name.
- Vibrate on tap now has three choices in Look: Off, Gentle or Strong (off unless you turn it on).
30 October 2026 · dashboards 0.37.1 · card 1.2.12
Smoother on big homes, and an optional tap vibration
- On homes with thousands of entities, icons no longer flicker when Home Assistant updates: a tile changes only when something on it really changes, which also makes the dashboard lighter on phones.
- New, off by default: phones can give a short vibration on a tap, like Home Assistant's own cards. In the dashboards: the pencil, then Look, then Vibrate on tap. On an Animara card: add haptic: light.
30 October 2026 · dashboards 0.37.0
New: Animara Glass, two dashboards in one
- Animara Float: every device floats above its own glass tile. Animara Glow: glass tiles that light up with your devices. One purchase gives you both, each as its own dashboard.
- Living tiles: a fan blows soft air, a fan's lamp glows warm and follows the dimmer under your finger, the coffee flows into the coffee machine's tile.
- A light with two zones, like a kitchen island, is one tile that shows both zone colours: one tap turns both on or off, and a press and hold opens a window where each zone has its own switch and dimmer.
- Both build themselves from your rooms. Your own player names and buttons are copied from your dashboards, which are never changed.
- Animara Glass is 49 dollars, one time, for up to 3 of your homes, with all 306 animated icons.
- Already using Animara Home, Showroom or Flat? Version 0.37.0 reaches your home by itself, and a closed garage door no longer shows 0%.
30 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.11
Colourful and Flat, side by side
- Own both the colourful icons and Animara Flat? Both licenses now add up in one home, so each card shows the look you picked, whichever key you entered first.
- The free sampler steps aside by itself once the full card is installed.
30 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.10
Every screen in your home unlocks by itself
- You paste your license key once, in one Animara card. Now every tablet, phone and wall screen in your home finds it, even when it opens a different page or dashboard.
29 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.9
Six new icons for the family
- Sisters, Brothers, Teen girl, Girl, Teen boy and Boy: give a kids' room its own icon. When the room is on, they wave and blink.
- Each one comes in color and in Animara Flat, calm and colorless.
- The classic ceiling fan: its rod now meets the motor.
- Already in your Home Assistant: the icons update by themselves. Using the downloaded files? Download them again with the same key.
28 October 2026, late night · dashboards 0.36.0
Your car on the dashboard
- Every car Home Assistant knows now gets its own tile in Control Center, with its range, battery or mileage. Cars without door locks show up too, like cars tracked by Ituran.
- Tap the tile to see where the car is, its mileage, range and battery, when it last reported, and a Show on map button.
28 October 2026, night · dashboards 0.35.1
Right to left in Hebrew and Arabic
- The Look and other settings windows now read right to left when your Home Assistant is in Hebrew or Arabic, and the note under Screen is translated into every language.
28 October 2026, night · dashboards 0.35.0
Day and night, by the sun
- New in Animara Home: your dashboard can switch by itself between the Day look and your night look. It follows the real sunset and sunrise at your home (from Home Assistant), not a fixed hour, so it is right in winter and in summer.
- It is off until you turn it on. To turn it on: tap the pencil, then Look. Under Background, turn on "Switch by itself at sunset".
- Pick your night look under Background: Night or Aurora. In the day the dashboard is bright, after sunset it moves to the night look you picked. Turn the switch off to keep one look all the time.
- Thanks to Shraga for the idea.
28 October 2026, evening · dashboards 0.34.1
Your home, the way you already set it up
- Only your own scenes: a script shows up under Scenes only when it sits in your own Scenes area on your dashboard, so helper scripts stay out.
- One room per room: if Home Assistant has both "Kylie" and "Kylie's Room", Animara Home shows one room with everything in it.
- Shades Up and Shades Down buttons now work with one tap, every time.
- On a phone held upright, the tabs that do not fit are under More, so every page is one tap away.
- Espresso machines (La Marzocco, Gaggia, Breville and more) and amplifiers (Hegel, NAD, Naim and more) get the right animated icon by themselves.
28 October 2026 · dashboards 0.33.2
Live cameras, right on the dashboard
- Animara Home and Animara Flat now play every camera of your home live, in a Cameras section on the Home page and on the Security page. The video runs all the time, through Home Assistant's own player.
- Tap a camera to open it full screen. It works with any camera Home Assistant knows, UniFi Protect included. Thanks Michael for the idea.
- You decide: tap the pencil, then Look. Cameras can be Live video, Still picture or Hidden, and each camera can be turned on or off.
- A robot vacuum map is no longer shown as a camera. If you want it there, turn it on in Look.
- A Child or Teen profile never sees the cameras. Nothing to set up: it arrives by itself through the one link.
27 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.8 and dashboards 0.32.0
Your dashboard, in your language and your words
- Every Animara dashboard (Home, Showroom, Flat and Family) now shows its buttons and titles in your Home Assistant language, by itself. 23 languages, and you can pick another one.
- Write your own words in place of any text on the dashboard: tap the pencil, then Texts. Choose a text from the list or tap it right on the screen. Your texts stay through every update.
- A device you add to your home later now shows up by itself, in its own room. A device you removed stays removed.
- Live Animara icons also on the new Overview of Home Assistant and its room pages, including an icon you pick in the device's own settings (for example animara:tv).
27 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.7
A new phone just works
- A new iPhone, an Android phone, or another family member signing in: the icons open by themselves, from a secure copy kept in your own Home Assistant for the whole home. No key to type, and nothing depends on animara.io.
- Your license still covers the same number of homes. It updates by itself through the one link install.
27 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.6 and dashboards 0.31.1
Your icons stay yours
- If animara.io or our license service is ever unreachable, your icons and dashboards keep working. Nothing on our side can lock a home you paid for.
- A phone or tablet that cleared its storage unlocks again by itself, from a secure copy kept in your own Home Assistant. No internet connection to us is needed.
- Only a refunded key, or a home you moved to another one, locks again. Your license still covers the same number of homes.
- It updates by itself through the one link install.
25 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.5
Your card names count
- A Bubble card you named for a device, for example "Air purifier", now gets that device's animated icon even when the card shows one of its readings (like PM2.5). The icon follows the device itself: moving when it is on, still when it is off. Thanks to Erez for the report.
24 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.4
Xiaomi air purifiers
- Xiaomi air purifiers that Home Assistant shows as a switch with a generic name now get the animated Animara purifier by themselves, in your Bubble, Mushroom and tile cards. Thanks Erez for the report.
24 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.3 · dashboards 0.31.0
New: the Animara Flat dashboard
- Animara Flat is now a finished dashboard too: calm and colourless, it builds itself from your rooms and devices, with a greeting, Control Center, Favorites and your scenes, and the flat icons drawn inside it. Day and night follow your theme by themselves.
- One grid on every screen: on tablets and wall screens every row of tiles now lines up, in every Animara dashboard.
- Animara Flat Complete brings the flat icons to all your other cards as well, with the SVG files.
- Install it with the same one link, https://animara.io/ha/animara.js, then Add dashboard and choose Animara Flat.
24 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.2
Clearer flat doors and lights
- In the flat look, the garage door now shows its frame and panels in every state, and the front door, the white light bar, the mirror light, the white floor lamp and the outdoor tree lights are drawn clearly too. It arrives by itself.
24 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.1
Flat, gently
- If you turn on the flat look without an Animara Flat license, your colourful icons simply stay, with a small note in the corner. Nothing disappears.
24 October 2026 · Animara card 1.2.0
New: Animara Flat
- The same 300 animated devices in a calm, colourless flat look. Every motion is kept: strong when a device is on, soft when it is off, and it follows your light or dark theme by itself.
- Animara Flat is its own product, with its own price and its own one link install: add
https://animara.io/ha/animara-flat.jsas a dashboard resource and every Animara icon turns flat. If you own both looks, choose per dashboard withanimara_style: flat. - Everything you already have keeps working exactly as before. The new card arrives by itself through the link.
24 October 2026 · Animara Home and Showroom 0.30.11
Tiles line up perfectly
- In every tile the name now starts at the same height and the state sits at the same height, so a long name on two lines no longer shifts its tile against the one next to it. Nothing to do: it arrives by itself through the link.
23 October 2026 · late evening · Full Pack 1.1.5
Live icons in the Hue-like Light Card
- The Hue-like Light Card now shows a live Animara icon too, lit when the light is on. With several lights in one card, the icon follows the one that is on.
- Nothing to set up: it happens by itself, like in Mushroom, Bubble Card and tiles.
23 October 2026 · evening · Full Pack 1.1.4 · Animara Home and Showroom 0.30.10
Batteries, motion sensors and older tablets
- Battery sensors now get a live Animara battery by themselves, and the drawing follows the real level: full, high, half, low and critical.
- Motion sensors are recognised by their name too, so a motion sensor without a device class (one that shows On and Off) gets the live motion icon, with motion shown when it happens.
- Water tanks follow their real level too, and the modern ceiling fan shows low and high speed.
- Older tablets, like Amazon Fire HD, now show every icon.
- Animara Home and Showroom: move a room by dragging the handle next to its name, in edit mode.
- Tip: if a card has its own icon set, Home Assistant shows that one first. Clear the card's icon and Animara takes over.
Your icons now come alive everywhere
